Briefly: MyWerx content-copyright e-venture update
Comment Print

MyWerx, a Tim Smith startup that lets content creators establish and manage their works' copyright information using social and wiki tools, has signed marketing partnerships with SESAC, ASCAP and Indie Connect, Smith told VNC.

Smith (at right) said he expects conservatively to generate $600K in revenue next year, and may also execute a multi-million A-round in 2011, after MyWerx reaches 2.0 status. MyWerx has raised about $1.7MM from friends and family, Smith said. MyWerx competitors are few, but do include the Harry Fox Agency, among others.

In a recent VNC interview, Smith listed numerous MyWerx features that are in development or contemplated, including an API to allow other developers to build atop the MyWerx platform.

MyWerx recently signed its first major services contract, but Smith said details on that are being saved for a 1Q 2011 rollout. VNC
