THE Nashville Entrepreneur Center announced that its 2019-20 Project Healthcare Portfolio cohort includes 18 startups.

The cohort companies will all be briefly introduced during an event at the EC this evening, beginning at 5 p.m. Details here.

The year-long Portfolio program helps accelerate the 18 startups enrolled in the full EC Project Healthcare Portfolio curriculum, Healthcare industry immersion with executives and other support. The EC says Project Healthcare is aimed at helping to transform the U.S. healthcare industry.

Project Healthcare is supported by partners including Ascension, HCA Healthcare Inc., ApolloGlobal Management-backed LifePoint Health Inc. (Brentwood), Nashville Health Care Council, Launch Tennessee, and early-stage Carefluence (a Michigan-based telehealth and medical interoperability player).

Headsup: EC staff confirmed today they have selected, but have not yet announced an additional eight startups that will be pilot members of a separate cohort designed for "pre-Portfolio" companies that want to prepare for possible admission to future Portfolio cohorts. The EC explains that its regular Portfolio cohort companies have in the past couple of years tended to be increasingly mature, and the new pilot program (details TBA) is designed to meet the needs of earlier-stage companies.

Below are the 18 companies debuting at the EC this evening. (*Asterisked companies are additions since our July 10 cohort listing. There was one dropout.)

* Agile Care Solutions: Bailey Paxton, CEO - East Lansing, Mich. -- AgileCare is a user-friendly software platform that streamlines communication among care teams while empowering caregivers to provide compassionate, data-driven care.

Analysis Express: Subrata Debnath, CEO - Nashville -- Analysis Express' TADM/Tolerance360 software is used in the manufacturing industry, specifically within the medical device space, to expedite GD&T processes to bring products to
market faster.

Careloop: Sean Switzer, VP, Partner Success - Boulder, Colo. -- CareLoop provides an innovative platform that: 1) improves patient experience; 2) simplifies clinical workflows and care coordination; and 3) captures and increases revenue for health system partners.

* Connetix Health: Kirstan Vandersluis, CEO - Denver, Colo. -- Connetix Health develops mCharts, a next-generation Personal Health Record (PHR) application that automatically collects health records from a user's providers, similar to Mint.com for personal finance. mCharts displays health information in easy-to-understand views like a visual body map and Facebook-like timeline, and links to other health service networks like GoodRx and MedlinePlus to enrich the health record.

CPRWrap: Felicia Jackson, CEO - Chattanooga -- CPRWrap manufactures a patent-pending, disposable CPR template that empowers, protects, and guides non-medical responders during sudden cardiac arrest emergencies.

* Febris: Kirkland Brooks, CEO - Savannah, Ga. -- Febris is working on cutting-edge virtual nurse training. The company's goal is to help healthcare systems provide the best care for their patients by improving the ability to train and track nurses.

Hifinite: Mohammed Memon, CEO - San Diego -- Hifinite provides an integrated digital healthcare solution that empowers providers to engage, consult, educate, and remotely monitor patients.

Kegg: Kristina Cahojova, CEO - San Francisco -- kegg accurately senses vaginal changes in a user-friendly way and connects the user to her own specialist that guides her on her fertility journey remotely. kegg aims to disrupt the women's intimate health industry by cutting unnecessary costs by providing meaningful data to women through fertility hardware and access to remote 1:1 fertility specialists.

Lief Therapeutics: Rohan Dixit, CEO -- San Francisco -- Lief Therapeutics is a thin biosensing patch that continuously measures heart rate variability (HRV) with medical accuracy. Lief teaches you to control your body's natural stress response through vibratory biofeedback exercises. The continuous heart data is connected to a clinician dashboard that healthcare professional can review remotely, offering insight to promote better care.

Luminent Health: Tony Joudi, CEO - Boston -- Luminent Health has developed an integrated hardware and software ecosystem comprising handheld all-in-one devices that allow providers and patients to perform complete physical exams, schedule appointments, securely message providers, and integrate with existing EMRs for improved continuity of care, remote telehealth, and convenience.

Medicare Pathfinder: Scott Cadora, CEO - Atlanta -- Medicare Pathfinder is a digital health company that uses artificial intelligence to optimize senior healthcare. The company's AI engine evaluates the likely medical usage of each senior based upon their unique health profile and maps those needs against the hundreds of Medicare plan combinations to optimize each senior's health coverage.

Midas Health: Brian Forrester, CEO - Portland, Ore. -- Midas helps big companies overcome labor shortages by using AI to reach more candidates. An alternative to Indeed.com, the company generates job description videos for each open position, giving recruiters a competitive advantage when sourcing candidates online.
