DOSE HEALTHCARE, the mobile-centric medical startup that provides telemedical care or dispatches medical professionals to home, office, hotel or workplace, is moving into a Series A capital raise.
When asked by Venture Nashville, Co-Founder and COO Jade Preis, 29, acknowledged the raise, but declined to provide details at this stage. Preis works full-time on the company.

Separately interviewed, Co-Founder and CEO Cole Hawkins said future funding priorities include adding to its medical and business-development team, including recruiting a chief medical officer.
The company offers in-person or telehealth medical and wellness services. addressing a wide range of symptoms and issues. Its standard for fulfilling visit commitments is "in under two hours." Dose Healthcare is accessible via iOS and Android devices, as well as Web browsers.
Its core offering will continue to target individual self-pay and commercially covered consumers, though it is also gradually expanding its onsite-dispatch services for worksite visits and concierge-level services.
Approaching its first anniversary, Dose revenue is growing 280% month-over-month, and breakeven could come by the end of 2Q16, said Hawkins.
For the moment, most of its customers are based in the Nashville-Franklin-Brentwood area. Its next step is expansion into the Southeast.
It does not currently accept Medicare payment, and it has no plans for bricks-and-mortar clinics. Its website lists 18 healthcare insurers it is currently prepared to bill, from Aetna to UnitedHealth.
Dose has a dozen healthcare providers in its network now, and aims to have as many as 75 by year-end 2016, Hawkins said. The majority of its providers are nurse practioners, the balance physicians.
Hawkins said he and Preis began "kicking the tires" on their concept in early 2015. The Delaware company was registered in Tennessee last April, according to state records.
Competitors include New York-based Pager and Los Angeles-based Heal, he said.
Preis is an attorney who serves as in-house counsel and previously worked with Waller Lansden, after earning her Vanderbilt University Law School degree in 2013. Her LinkedIn is here.
Dose's outside advisors include accountants Brown & McGuire and it banks with Wells Fargo. It receives app-development and related support from Eye Scream Design, in Nashville.
Hawkins, 30, continues to work full-time for an unrelated business, representing in the mid-South the GeneInsight platform developed by Boston-based Partners Health, a personalized-medicine and healthcare data-analytics innovator, and a medical teching affiliate of Harvard Medical School.
