GLOBAL Health Connector (GHC), with its headquarters in Belfast and its U.S. hub in Nashville, convenes its one-hour Virtual Pitch Event tomorrow at 11 a.m. Central Time, with free registration here.

The Dec. 2 event is designed to showcase health-tech startups from the UK, the Balkans, Australia and America by reinforcing innovation and investment ties among program speakers, presenters and those atending via Zoom.

The judges for the startup pitch portion of tomorrow's one-hour program are William Trapnell of Frist Cressey Ventures; SVP Rachel Kern of First Trust Corporation Ventures; and, Prof. John Graves PhD of Vanderbilt University.

In addition to GHC, partners in the event include Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce, Systems Evolution Inc. (SEI, Nashville), and Leeds (UK) Nexus Innovation Hub.

The partners are collaborating with Global Health Innovators Nashville, Digital Den Accelerator (Montenegro), WYCA - West Yorkshire (UK) Combined Authority, Leeds Innovation Hub (UK) and the Nashville Entrepreneur Center's Project Healthcare, among others.

Tomorrow's event is the latest of an expanding series of cross-border pro-healthcare trade and innovation events and other initiatives spawned by Nashville-area executives, prominently including GHC-affiliated Eric Thrailkill, Chamber-affiliated Lori Odom and John Scannapieco of Womble Bond Dickinson, among others.

These and other initiatives generated broader awareness in 2024 when Metro Nashville Mayor Freddie O'Connell and WYCA Mayor Tracy Brabin signed a nonbinding memorandum of understanding regarding their desire to see greater crossborder trade in health and medical technologies, as VNC reported here.

The pitching startups:

CorrectifAI (Mihail Shishkoski) – AI-powered posture and musculoskeletal health platform improving wellness and work performance.

DIA (Mario Mijatovic, Gjordjina Ristovska) – Diabetes management app helps users track health metrics to optimize daily care.

Guaranteed (Jessica McGlory) - AI-enabled approach to personalized, inclusive and accessible end-of-life care.

HashiMotto (Omar Radoncic) App for daily personalized autoimmune care for those with Hashimoto's.

Misti  (Danielle Esler) MedMisti™ medical-grade smart inhaler for respiratory care

Nervio.ai (Rich Vogel) OR intraoperative autonomous neuromonitoring.

Nimblemind.ai (Pi Zonooz) Helps curate and enrich multimodal clinical data.

Pulse Charter Connect (Laura Epstein) Transplant-organ logistics scheduling and communications.

3DLoom (Stefan Smiljanoski) – 3D-printed anatomical models that enhance surgical precision, reduce  operation times.

Note: Initiatives such as those outlined above have been seen by many participants and observers as representing a template for greater international trade, investment and innovation efforts in Middle Tennessee sectors beyond healthcare, though we're aware of no such formal efforts.-Ed. VNC
