The Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce and Nashville Entrepreneur Center announced today they've named the five individuals who will be honored during their Oct. 18 NEXT Awards event as Legacy Entrepreneurs.

They are, by sector: John Ingram, Digital Media & Entertainment; Clayton McWhorter - Health Care; Hal Cato - Social Enterprise (recently announced stepping-down from Oasis Center); Earl Swenson - Sustainability & Alternative Energy; and, Tod Fetherling - Technology.

Criteria for the selections included, said the sponsors: Demonstrated outstanding entrepreneurial spirit throughout his/her career; successfully launched multiple ventures and exits, creating value for relevant stakeholders; a track record of supporting other entrepreneurs who have created viable and sustainable businesses; and made a lasting impact on Nashville’s landscape.
