Launch Tennessee, aka Tennessee Technology Development Corporation, announced this afternoon that its nationwide search for a successor CEO has resulted in its recommendation of Lindsey Cox, now CEO of the Company Lab in Chattanooga.
ECD Commissioner Bob Rolfe said Cox's selection has been approved by both the LaunchTN search committee and the board's executive committee.
Director and Search Committee Chair Bruce Doeg this afternoon facilitated the voting of the full board, which was unanimously favorable.
Cox is expected to take her new office April 1. Updated March 2, 2022: The Times Free Press reported that Cox will split her time between LaunchTN and Company Lab for several months.
Cox previously spent more than six years with LaunchTennessee in a variety of roles with increasing levels of responsibility. Previous VNC coverage of Cox here.
Given Cox has been in her Chattanooga job less than a year, all parties promised they're going to go to great lengths to make Cox's transition good for the Company Lab, LaunchTN and others.
She succeeds Abby Trotter, who served in the Interim role since last summer. Trotter is an owner of Hall Strategies, and also serves as executive director of Life Science Tennessee.
Cox returned to Tennessee not long ago to take the helm of the Company Lab, after helping to manage grant-making programs for the Economic Development Agency of the U.S. Department of Commerce. Her LinkedIn profile is here.
